AI and the Future of Work Report

We are proud to announce the publication of our latest report "AI and the Future of Work – Challenges and Recommendations for a Responsible and Efficient Use of Artificial Intelligence."

A Context of Accelerated Transformation

The rapid democratization of generative AI is redefining organizational dynamics within companies. The spontaneous introduction of these tools, often in the form of shadow AI (uncoordinated or unauthorized use), reflects an unprecedented shift: for the first time, a digital transformation is emerging organically, beyond strategies led by IT departments.

However, this technological revolution, as promising as it may be, raises critical questions about human skills, collective work dynamics, and the balance between productivity and well-being. These changes require a thoughtful approach to prevent increasing digital divides or counterproductive effects linked to hyperproductivity.

Recommendations for an Inclusive and Ethical Future

Resulting from four months of intensive research, this report is based on contributions from an interdisciplinary group of 15 experts and an international scientific committee of 9 members. The recommendations are structured around four key themes :

Skills in an AI-Augmented World :

  • Identifying and developing the skills necessary to use and control AI.
  • Investing in targeted training programs to support the integration of these tools across all professions.

Collective Work and Workplace Relationships:

  • Encouraging a collaborative and co-creative approach to AI adoption.
  • Preserving tacit knowledge through rich human interactions, even in an era of advanced technologies.

Impact on Career Paths:

  • Accelerating the integration of young talents through AI tools.
  • Rebalancing career opportunities to promote inclusion and reduce social inequalities.

Working Conditions and Cognitive Risks:

  • Raising awareness about the potential impacts of AI on cognitive delegation and the standardization of thought.
  • Creating work environments that foster creativity, resilience, and human intelligence in the face of technological challenges.

This report is part of an ambitious initiative: laying the foundation for a global dialogue on the responsible integration of AI into the world of work. It also serves as a preparatory step for the AI Action Summit, which will take place on February 10-11, 2025, in Paris, aiming to coordinate international efforts toward an ethical and inclusive use of AI.We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders—experts, contributors, and partners—whose commitment and vision have made this project possible.
