The French AI Observatory in Rome organized a seminar on December 11, 2024, aimed at fostering discussions among diplomats, representatives of the Holy See, business leaders, experts, and members of civil society. The objective: to enrich collective thinking on the impact of artificial intelligence on work and employment.
This event, co-organized with the French Embassy to the Holy See, the Human Technology Foundation, and the Institut Français - Centre Saint-Louis, is part of the preparations for the AI Action Summit, the upcoming international summit on AI that France will host in February 2025.
The rise of AI presents numerous opportunities for businesses, public administrations, and associations, particularly in terms of productivity gains and the automation of certain tasks, allowing employees to focus on higher-value missions. However, these advances also bring significant challenges, including worker accountability, workplace well-being, and compliance with existing legal frameworks, particularly in labor law, industrial property, and data protection.

The conclusions of the seminar will contribute to the reflections and preparatory work on the future of work within the framework of the AI Action Summit, which will be held in Paris in February 2025.
